“Swiss Army Knife Survives The Test Of Time”

I lost my third Swiss Army Knife last week. I promised myself I would “put my survival knife in the

checked luggage, not my purse.” Now I am on my way to get yet another Swiss Army Knife. It is the

most essential tool in my survival gear, and my bug out bag is incomplete without my survival tools. In

this case my bug out bag is my purse. That is why I appreciate the Swiss Army Knife so much. The tool

fits right in the palm of my hand. It is so easily stored in my purse that I carry it everywhere.

My new Swiss Army knife has 11 different survival that store into the body of the knife. It is pure

genius. The Swiss Army knife originated in Switzerland in 1891. The United States was introduced to

the tool in WW2 through the German soldiers, and US servicemen brought them home with them.

The World has changed a lot and the Swiss Army Knife has evolved also, perhaps that is why it is still

on survival tips “must have “in the survival backpack. I am always using my knife for everything from

opening up bottles, to hanging a painting with the screwdriver, to opening a bottle of wine with the

corkscrew. Whether I am cutting kindling or cutting thread I have found that the reason that my Swiss

Army Knife is on my survival gear list is that I like it am a survivalist. It may be jungle, or the urban

jungle, you have to be prepared. There are many different styles of the knife today and it now holds so

many tools in a compacted area that it is small enough to fit in pockets and purses, and of course bug

out bags. I suppose I have always been fascinated with how useful the tool is and how it is so compact.

That is why I always carry one with me A survivalist mom living in an urban jungle wielding her purse

must have some protection. The Swiss Army Knife reminds me of that. I have had one since I was a

little kid. Be prepared is what my dad would say as he popped his into his front pocket. I lost my first

one at Disney World. It was in my purse and since 911 security became much tighter .They took in the

security lane. I lost 2 others at airports. The Swiss Army knife has been a tried and true survivalists

staple for 125 years and is still producing the quality tools that are used by survivalists worldwide. I

must remember to check it in the luggage when I travel next, but I won't leave home without it.
