When I am packing my bug out bag, which I empty and repack every other month, I make sure to
include Camo Wrap. It is like the wraps that are used to wrap sprained ankles or joints, but it has a
superior waterproof coating that allows it to stick to itself and continue holding even when wet or
raining.
I have used Camo Wrap for a variety of purposes, including wrapping or temporarily holding my
survival gear together. My survival crew members each have differing colors of duct tape or other
gauze-like material to help distinguish survival tools and avoid packing someone else’s survival knife in
to the wrong survival backpack.
I wrap my survival knife grip with Camo Wrap to mark it as mine. I also wrap my tent poles. When
staying in one location for an extended period I wrap all the black poles to camouflage them to match
the tent. In addition, I use the wrap to hide survival gear in trees or bushes along my bug out path so I
have a backup flashlight and fire starting kit in various locations in case I am attacked or lose my gear in
an accident.
A survival blog that I frequently read includes Camo Wrap on their mandatory survival gear list.
Similar water proofed wraps do not work as well as Camo Wrap, and this version blends in with all the
camo gear I already use. As an avid prepper, I would add it to any survival tips list as mandatory and
required.
My survival jacket has an orange lining that is not visible when it is worn. Trekking through the lowland
brush of Nevada has torn my jacket more than once. Rather than replace the jacket or stop motion and
mend it with my sewing kit, I use Camo Wrap to make repairs and get me where I am going without
losing time or risk being visible with an orange streak running up my arm or across my front.
The added bonus of having a waterproof wrap that blends with my gear makes me more covert. I
have used the wrap for many purposes. The flat camo color softens the reflection of my visor on my
climbing helmet, I use it to mark my path for others to follow by placing a small piece in trees as I pass,
and I use it to keep gear together, wrapped tightly and cinched down in my bug out bag.
Camo Wrap is a must have in every bug out prepper’s survival tool kit. It has saved me in more
than one instance and I always have it in my day-bag. It is not only for camouflage, it is for support,
wrapping things together and keeping all of your gear incognito, like you on the bug out trail.
